About You
The successful Occupational Studies Tutor will have excellent communication skills and great rapport building ability, will be highly organised with demonstrated planning and time-management skills (supported by good IT skills). You will also need:
PGCE/Cert in Education or Diploma in Education and Training.
Qualified to a minimum of Level 3 in your own vocational specialist subject.
Experience of teaching Maths and English up to Level 2
Effective in managing conflict and maintaining high standards of classroom behaviour.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
About the Role
We have an exciting opportunity for a full-time Study Programme Tutor in Occupational Studies to join our team in Walkden, Manchester.
This role is based at our site in Walkden. The successful applicant will be responsible for managing and delivering diverse learning opportunities for groups of learners from initial interview and assessment through to successful completion of course and accreditation.
The role will involve teaching across a range of qualification types and levels, anything from entry level to level 2 as a minimum. The Occupational Studies tutor will:
Design, plan and deliver inspirational and effective programmes of learning, to achieve the highest academic standards and learning opportunities.
Monitor learner progress into positive progression on completion.
Source meaningful work experience opportunities for our learners.
Assist in the organisation of internal/external examinations and coursework.
Assist in developing curriculum links with Apprenticeship tutors and other organisations to promote business and enterprise in Central YMCA.
Contribute to course review processes, curriculum development and quality assurance in keeping with the organisations policies and procedures.
Provide individualised pastoral support to learners, ensuring this effectively meets their needs and supports their success on their programme of learning.
As an Occupational StudiesTutor you will deliver learning opportunities that are practical in nature whilst developing both employability and social skills. You will enable learners to achieve accredited qualifications, provide worthwhile work experience opportunities and also support with English and maths functional skills or GCSE.
