Sessional Lecturer – Applied Science (Physics and Biology)

The School of Science, Technology, Engineering and Professional (STEP) deliver a key part of the College’s provision with programmes ranging from Level 1 to Level 6 HE, including an extensive apprenticeship provision.
We are now seeking Sessional Science Lecturers to teach on Level 3 BTEC Applied Science programmes with subject specialisms in Physics or Biology.
You will take responsibility for the group tutorship of one or more of courses within the school and contribute to the development of existing and new provision, as well as the implementation of flexible and cost effective teaching and learning styles.
We’re looking for someone who has excellent teaching skills and relevant teaching experience on BTEC programmes. You will hold a degree or relevant professional qualification in an appropriate subject and be able to support, motivate and empathise with learners, including monitoring their progress.
With energy, enthusiasm and passion for the subject and education, you will have high personal standards and expectations and be aware of academic quality standards. A teaching qualification is not essential however we do ask that you are willing to achieve one in line with current regulations.
The successful candidate will be eligible for any increase in salary as a consequence of the annual cost of living review that is implemented in the new academic year.
