Work Place Assessor / Lecturer – Engineering

Kingston College are now seeking a Work Place Assessor / Lecturer in Engineering.
The focus of this role is to be available to visit the workplace and assess apprentices studying the Engineering Apprenticeship standard. You’ll complete all administrative work connected with the assessments and apprenticeships and provide prompt and constructive feedback to candidates soon after assessment.
A key focus is helping the Head of Section ensure that your students meet and exceed their target grades and are successful. It’s about providing a high-quality student experience and outstanding outcomes in Engineering.
We’d like you to have a background in Engineering, specifically Machining, Maintenance and Manufacturing up to Level 4. Offering other areas of Engineering up to Level 5 would be an advantage.
You will hold an Assessor qualification related to Engineering and it would be advantageous to hold an IV qualification and have experience of successful assessment and delivery of Engineering Apprenticeship standards. With an awareness of academic quality standards, you’ll be able to use new technologies to enhance teaching and learning support to students and be receptive to new ideas and initiatives, with a creative approach to problem solving.
Whilst this post is advertised as full-time we would also welcome applications for those who may wish to take on this role in a fractional capacity which can be discussed with successful candidates.
Subject to a cost of living review from 1 August, the successful candidate will be eligible for any subsequent increase in salary.
