Apprentice – Learner Recruitment and Reception Officer

Hours; Full time (37hrs per week, all year round)

Duration; Temporary (18-24 months in line with Apprenticeship Standard)

Salary; £6.40 per hour (equates to £12,313.60 per annum) + benefits

Location; Dearne Valley College, Rotherham

 

 

About the Role

The Learner Recruitment & Reception Officer Apprentice role is a key part of the Group’s customer Service provision within the Learner Recruitment team, providing a professional and high-quality customer service to internal and external customers. In this role you will ensure that all stakeholders receive a positive experience when they make course enquiries, whether in person, over the phone or via electronic communication. You will provide a range of professional, pre-entry information and advice to potential and existing customers, referring to specialists where appropriate. The function is an integral part of the college admissions and enrolment process which includes: providing initial information and advice to prospective learners and assisting in the administration of the admissions and enrolment process.

 

As the first point of contact for the majority of our stakeholders, there is a high importance on ensuring a welcoming atmosphere and availability of accurate information to enable successful outcomes. Through a proactive, enthusiastic and customer-focused approach you will help the Group to achieve our mission to provide skills for the future of our students and community through outstanding teaching and learning.

 

You will…

In this role you will undertake a Level 3 Business Administration Apprenticeship (Standard), which will cover modules on Planning and Organising, Communication, Decision Making, Business Fundamentals, Policies and Regulation. You will be supported by your line manager, a specialist assessor/tutor to develop your knowledge, skills and behaviours. 

 

You will also hold a Level 2 (or equivalent) qualification in English and Maths – Grade A-C/4-9 (or be willing to undertake alongside the main apprenticeship qualification).

 

Department Info

You will be line managed by the Learner Recruitment and Reception Team Leader who will give you operational direction and supported by the Head of Learner Recruitment and Events. You will also as part of the Learner Recruitment team, who work across all college campus, supporting learners, customers and staff.
