Our Attendance team play a crucial role making sure students succeed and reach their potential and we’re looking for a brilliant Student Progress Retention Officer to join them.

You’ll play a pivotal role in supporting learners who are At Risk of not achieving their qualification.

Liaising with the Attendance Team and Curriculum Staff you’ll coordinate workshops that provide essential support to learners. You’ll be responsible for maintaining a cross-college register of At-Risk learners and will follow up all actions. You’ll analyse data and report any concerns to Heads of Department so that early intervention can be put in place to support students.

  • You’ll use your excellent organisation skills to plan effective audits which monitor progress against a range of activities such as registers, targets/current grades/assessment plans and actions.
  • You will be responsible for managing the timeliness of transfers and withdrawals of learners where appropriate.

We’d like you to:

  • Have experience of working with small groups of learners who require extra support.
  • Have strong interpersonal and communication skills, engaging effectively with students, colleagues, and external agencies.
  • Demonstrate excellent organisational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Have a determination to support every learner in achieving their goals.
  • Have knowledge of mental health and wellbeing support services, including familiarity with relevant policies and procedures.
