We have some exciting opportunities available at Barking and Dagenham College. We are looking for three  Enrichment Assistants to join us.

You will join us on a 36 hours per week full-time, 38 weeks per year Term Time Only permanent basis and in return, we will offer a competitive salary of £21,323 -£23,064 inc.  London Weighting p.a.

The Enrichment Assistant role:

You will be reporting to the Support Life and Enrichment Manager.  You will plan and deliver an appropriate range of cross-College activities in line with the enrichment programme and national themes which will engage students and contribute to their personal and social development and employability.  You will promote and develop the Learner Voice across college and support learners to set up and run clubs and societies.

Key Responsibilities of our Enrichment Assistant:

You will develop and deliver a range of student enrichment activities, principally for 16-18 year olds but inclusion for adult students and apprentices
Provide break/lunchtime enrichment activities on a rotational basis in the designated communal areas, engaging with students to ensure that their leisure time is spent constructively and helping them maintain appropriate standards of behaviour
You will work with the Student Life and enrichment Manager to develop a programme of cross-college activities e.g Fresher’s Fair, Health and Fitness and themed events (e.g. international Women’s Day, black history month, Disability history month, etc)
Adequate recording/logging of enrichment activity
You will support curriculum to ensure that curriculum enrichment is planned, this can include sourcing funding, attending trips, booking guest speakers
Support where necessary college tutorials on topics linked to enrichment offer.
As our Enrichment Assistant you should have the following qualifications, skills and experience:

You will have a level 3 qualification in a relevant subject (teaching, coaching, counselling, youth work, sport)
Evidence of working in an education environment or a similar setting with young people
Demonstrate the ability to design and implement a range of activities which enhance the college enrichment offer
You will possess good analytical skills, demonstrated by a structured and methodical approach
You are team oriented, enthusiastic, with the ability to work independently using your own initiative
You have the ability to build positive relationships and maintain partnerships and networks
You are able to keep clear, timely and accurate records in the form of a case management model, sharing information internally and externally as and when appropriate and following established organisation standards
