We have an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic Sports Coach to join our fantastic Student Services team and assist in the effective development and delivery of a robust sports enrichment programme.

You will deliver sports enrichment sessions and promote various sports initiatives across the college to increase awareness of the events on offer and highlight the importance of healthy living to both students and the wider college community.

Please note that this is a Part Time role working 20 hours per week and will be Fixed Term for a period of 12 months.

Responsibilities include:

  • Deliver sports enrichment sessions that can be accessed by students across Bradford College
  • To deliver sports initiatives across the college to increase the awareness of sports enrichment and healthy living with students and the wider college community
  • Establish, build, and maintain working relationships and effective communication with the Personal Development Officer for Sport
  • Help develop and implement an annual sports enrichment programme
  • Raise awareness and profile of Sports enrichment throughout Bradford College
  • Support and coordinate coaching and club development programmes in college
  • Provide opportunities to positively promote the success of students through internal and external competitions
  • Complete all administrative tasks associated with the running of the sports enrichment activities
  • Identify students who are interested in participating in competitive teams and signpost them to the relevant clubs
  • Ensure all activities comply with health and safety requirements

Education & Training

  • Level 2 Sports Coaching qualification
  • GCSE A*- C or nationally recognised level 2 qualification in Maths or equivalent. (e.g. CSE 1, O Level A – C) or prepared to pass a test prior to interview to demonstrate level 2 ability and then if appointed achieve within an agreed timescale.
  • GCSE A*- C or nationally recognised level 2 qualification in English or equivalent. (e.g. CSE 1, O Level A – C) or prepared to pass a test prior to interview to demonstrate level 2 ability and then if appointed achieve within an agreed timescale.

Experience

  • Experience of working in an education setting
  • Experience of planning, delivering and facilitating group work sessions.
  • Experience of engaging students in extracurricular activities
  • Experience of delivering to a variety of age groups and abilities
  • Experience of working with a diverse range of people
  • To have an understanding of Health & Safety in a sports environment
