Job Description

CTP is looking for inspirational individuals to join our amazing team of qualified and experienced tutors, IQAs and leaders to help shape and positively impact our students’ futures.

CTP are an established national training provider specialising in the delivery of flexible, online courses and tutor-led vocational qualifications. We offer a mixture of 1:1 delivery and group training with a key emphasis on providing specialist support on a learner-by-learner basis.

We are looking for an individual with a learner focus to drive quality improvements within our curriculum. The role will require you to work as part of a small team to support the entire learner journey from engagement, through learning and assessment, to onwards progression. You will be a highly proactive and enthusiastic individual, with the ability to work flexibly and apply your own initiative.

Key Responsibilities:

Centre / Staff Observations

  • Work with the Quality Manager to agree a schedule of observations
  • Conduct graded observations of centre staff in line with the observation schedule
  • Maintain records of observations, actions set and subsequent improved practice.
  • Participate in moderation activities
  • Complete reviews of learner information for content and accuracy (e.g. career progression board, Prevent, E&D) and generate new materials to promote themes

File Checks

  • Carry out quality file checks for all centres and contracts
  • Maintain records of file checks completed and summarise your findings
  • Follow up on file check actions to ensure actions have been rectified
  • Produce monthly executive reports on file checks and compliance to be shared at SMT meetings

Staff Training

  • Plan and deliver staff training in conjunction with the Regional Delivery Co-Ordinators
  • Provide training and support to improve the quality of teaching, learning, assessment and associated documentation
  • Liaise with the Quality Manager and IQAs to support standardisation activities and planning of staff training and development
  • Consult with the data team to support training where data inputting or processing shortfalls are identified
  • Organise and deliver regular CPD training for all staff and ensure CPD attendance records are provided to Regional Delivery Co-ordinators
  • Lead and report on staff training and standardisation activities
  • Attend external training events and cascade information back to the Quality Team and plan and deliver training to staff

Awarding Organisations

  • Support with preparation for EQA activity, including preparing centre files, samples and supporting evidence
  • Analyse test pass rates to identify developing trends at subject and centre level
  • Ensure awarding organisation guidelines are being upheld and book assessments to ensure compliance

Satisfaction Surveys

  • Work with the Quality Manager to develop an annual plan of themed satisfaction surveys and focus groups
  • Lead learners’ focus groups and satisfaction surveys
  • Conduct stakeholder satisfaction surveys and focus groups
  • Analyse data and use findings to inform quality improvement activities
  • Plan and deliver focussed action planning and development activities
  • Generate regular reports on learner satisfaction rates at centre and provider level and share findings with the Quality Manager, to help identify appropriate improvement targets

Data Analysis

  • Analyse quality / EDIMS / success data to identify areas for improvement, set actions and monitor and record impact in the QIP
  • Analyse audit data to identify areas for improvement in quality systems and prepare improvement plans
  • Attend LEP and LMI briefings and report back to the quality manager on areas of need and demand, or key trends


  • Contribute to the drafting of the annual self-assessment report, encouraging collaboration from all CTP staff
  • Generate a quality improvement action plan to support areas for improvement
  • Maintain the QIP on a monthly basis, ensuring all areas of the business contribute, and review the impact on the learner
  • Report on progress against actions to SMT and the Board

Curriculum Development

  • Support the Quality Manager to plan, develop and implement new courses and qualifications across all funding streams, including creation and upkeep of course materials where appropriate
  • Review and create schemes of work and lesson plans to meet Ofsted and curriculum requirements for all programmes, in conjunction with specialist tutors where appropriate
  • Review and create initial and diagnostic skills assessments for all programmes
  • Develop curriculum-based training resources and programmes of CPD training for staff


  • Act as the Designated Safeguarding Lead to ensure clear lines of reporting for all centres
  • Support with the implementation of a robust culture of Safeguarding, supporting with monthly meetings and disseminating training to all staff to ensure compliance
  • Implement the curriculum to ensure coverage of key priorities
  • Support with matrix and Ofsted preparation
  • Support Regional Delivery co-ordinators and centre leads to implement all recommendations, following inspections and assurance visits
  • Work with the Quality Manger to continuously improve quality and identify strategies and initiatives to maintain and further improve the quality of our provision
  • Implement and embed Ofsted frameworks to ensure they are accessible for centre staff at all levels to understand, implement and embed into their daily work practices.
  • Lead the production of learner, staff and stakeholder newsletters
  • Plan E&D / FBV / Safeguarding / Prevent / Health and well-being events, training and CPD activities and work with Centre Leads and Regional Delivery Co-Ordinators to embed these into centre delivery
  • Maintain a calendar of E&D / FBV / Safeguarding / Prevent / Health and well-being events and a record of celebrations held

General Responsibilities

  • Adhere to all policies, processes and procedures set by CTP
  • Regularly visit all CTP centres
  • Travel to central locations for meetings as required
  • Some overnight stays may be required

This list is not exhaustive, and you will be required to undertake any other reasonable duties requested by senior staff members.

Essential criteria:

  • Exceptional understanding of the EIF
  • Experience of conducting graded observations
  • Experience of creating and maintaining a SAR and QIP
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Worked in a Grade 2 (minimum) training provider
  • A passion for quality improvement
  • Mathematics & English Qualifications Level 2
  • Enthusiastic about supporting learners to achieve and progress
  • The ability to manage a demanding environment and work flexibly
  • Able to demonstrate a commitment to CPD
  • Willing to learn and develop new skills
  • Must hold a clean driving licence and have their own vehicle

Desirable criteria:

  • Experience of acting as an Ofsted Nominee
  • Experience of acting as a Designated Safeguarding Lead
  • Experience of conducting IQA
  • Knowledge and experience of working with Functional Skills
  • Teaching qualification equivalent to L5 DET/PGCE
  • Hold IT qualifications
  • Hold an IAG L3 qualification
  • Hold an IQA qualification
