We are now seeking an Occupational Therapy Team Manager to lead, develop and coordinate the development and delivery of a high-quality Occupational Therapy service, across all South Thames Colleges Group sites.
You will support students to successfully access their College course and achieve their outcomes for progression, as well as support students’ emotional wellbeing, working pro-actively to avoid behaviours of concern. You will use a person-centred approach to promote choice, independence, and inclusion, reflecting the key principals of Valuing People and Valuing People Now, for students aged 16-25 years who have a range of learning and communication difficulties associated with Learning Disabilities, Specific Learning difficulties or Autism Spectrum Profiles.
We’d like our Occupational Therapy Team Manager to hold a degree or equivalent in Occupational Therapy and have experience of assessing learners with Learning Disabilities, Autism and Sensory processing difficulties, both formally and informally. You will have experience of devising and implementing evidence-based intervention for learners with Learning Disabilities, Autism and Sensory processing difficulties and be comfortable writing reports and support plans for a range of audiences and needs.
HPC registered, you will have an awareness of the principles of Positive Behaviour Support as well as knowledge of sensory and motor needs / learning strategies for this client group. You will have the confidence to supervise / manage Occupational therapy colleagues and provisions, and have experience of planning and delivering training, both classroom and/or coaching and reflection.
