Curriculum Team Leader – Services to Business (Work Based Learning)
Hours; Full time (37hrs per week, all year round),

About the Role
The role of a Work Based Curriculum Team Leader is to lead on the delivery of a range of programmes, equipping our learners with skills for their future through the delivery of outstanding education and training that inspires learners to achieve their potential.
This role will be to deliver, and lead the Services to Business programmes which include Business & Management, Hair & Beauty and Hospitality. Our programmes range from Level 3 – Level 6 with learners on apprenticeship standards across a range of industries/sectors so a background and experience in employer engagement is required.
As a Curriculum Team Leader, you will:
- Coordinate and lead a group of programmes, frameworks and Standards.
- Ensuring that learners reach their potential through the setting of SMART targets
- Supervise staff within your area
It will be your responsibility to develop provision (including new provision) that is fit for purpose and continues to meet the skills needs of learners and employers in consultation with your Curriculum Manager.
You will ensure that you provide learners with excellent experiences for learning and to ensure programmes can be sustained by making a financial contribution to the Department. As well as supporting others in your team, you too will deliver teaching and learning that is excellent, striving for continuous improvement. Alongside this is ensuring that learners are appropriately supported and any areas of concern are identified and acted up promptly.
A key part of the role of a Curriculum Team Leader will be to ensure the achievement of all quality assurance measures (which includes meeting all awarding body requirements and engaging in internal verification processes) so previous experience of this is essential.
Finally, you will ensure the effective management of data, ensuring that processes are accurate and timely in your Curriculum area, working alongside other internal departments where required.
You will have experience in teaching/training in business and/or management across a range of levels which must include apprenticeships and be able to support and influence curriculum design from L3-6 across the broadest range of programmes in this area.
To compliment your educational experience, you will have industry or commerce experience too and be able to evidence how you ensure you maintain your industry knowledge through Continuous Professional Development.
You will need an IQA qualification, an Assessors award and ideally have EPA experience in order to effectively support the team. You will also hold a vocationally relevant qualification and have, or be willing to work towards, a teaching qualification.
This role sits within our work-based learning function; RNN Training. Your line manager will be the Curriculum Manager and you will regularly report on your objectives to update them on a range of KPI’s including (but not limited to) learner recruitment, retention, achievement, attendance and progress.
You will provide day-to-day leadership, guidance and support to Assessors / work place tutors in your teams through informal methods and regular team meetings.
You will be part of a Curriculum and Department team and will work with other teaching staff to develop and share good practice in the area. You may be required to participate in cross college teams or working groups on key projects too.
