Why work for us?
What’s the best thing about working for OAT? That’s easy. The people. Whether it’s our pupils who are diverse and full of character, or our staff who are committed, full of energy, and driven by the purpose of our work. Our people are amazing.
There’s nothing more important than educating the next generation, and our teams across OAT are doing great things to make sure that the education we offer is the best that it can be. If you join us at OAT, whatever your role, you can be sure of a role with purpose and meaning.
We live our values
We are truly values-based, and our people really care about the pupils that we work with. The values we live by are woven through everything that we do, and they’re set out here:

Benefits
We have a range of benefits in place, including membership of health cash plans, legal helplines, fitness and wellbeing support, gym discounts, and many more. Our academies are free to offer benefits specific to their own local preferences hence they do vary a little from one to the next.
It goes without saying that we value time to refresh and re-energise and we have in place generous holiday provision as well as parental leave and flexible working arrangements. Working for OAT also comes with membership of a great pension scheme – either LGPS or TPS. Our package continues to evolve as we refine how our people are rewarded for the contributions they make in a variety of ways.
Professional development
Of course, the thousands of professional decisions that must be made every day must also be informed by the best evidence, knowledge and professional wisdom. That’s core to securing the best outcomes for our children.
With that in mind, investment in our staff is crucial, and CPD is at the heart of our work to engage, develop and retain the best people. We are working hard to make sure that we can offer strong career pathways and a range of development opportunities, whatever your role in OAT.
Equality, diversity, and inclusion
Our newly released strategy is absolutely clear that equality, diversity and inclusion must be woven through all of our work. We know that there is more work to do in this area, and that’s why equality, diversity and inclusion will be a key strand in our developing people strategy. We will be focusing on how we create a truly inclusive environment, how we attract people with a range of backgrounds and experience, how we improve awareness and development, how we provide support to staff across the organisation, and much more.
