North Star 240°

240° is our secondary school and is made up of five key-stage 3 and five key-stage 4 classes. Our students have social and emotional mental health needs that often include ADHD and ASD. Our KS3 operates with a primary school teaching model in order to ease the transition into secondary school for our young people and suit their learning better. Students in years seven and eight and half of our year nines are taught by their tutor for the majority of their lessons and work predominantly in one classroom. This limits the amount of disruption between lessons and makes transitions between subjects much easier for our young people, as well as enabling them to develop strong, positive relationships with their tutors. KS4 operates with a secondary model and students go on to study a mix of GCSEs and other qualifications in academic and vocational subjects as well as their core subjects.
