Barnet & Southgate College provides education and training to more than 13,000 students, delivering more than 30 subjects across our state-of-the-art campuses in Barnet and Southgate, North London. POST TITLE: Main Grade Lecturers- Subject Specialists for Learners with Learning Difficulties or Disabilities including Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties
POST REFERENCE: LLDDLEC-001
SALARY: MGL Salary Scale (Point 7 to 12- £33,460-£44,146) per annum inclusive of Outer London Weighting
HOURS: 35 hours per week, 52 weeks per year (1FTE)
LOCATION: The posts will based at our Southgate site although the post holders will be required to work at the other main College sites

We are looking to recruit enthusiastic, motivated and highly experienced teacher who is passionate about SEN teaching and learning. Our students have a range of complex physical, sensory and learning needs with huge capacity and eagerness to learn and develop their skills and fulfil their ambitions. Successful candidate will join our inspirational and creative team in our Supported Learning Centre at our Southgate Campus.
Experience of working with young people with severe and moderate learning difficulties is essential. We have a full time post available. Subject specialisms required include PMLD(Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties) specialism and Functional Skills (English, maths, ICT). Knowledge of complex needs and sensory curriculum is essential. Applicants should be able to demonstrate their understanding of complete communication approach and the use of augmented communication devices.
For the position, successful candidates will be expected to teach on a range of subjects and programmes across the subject spectrums. Excellent administration and interpersonal skills together with a commitment to working effectively as part of a team are essential for this role.
You will hold a hold a relevant degree qualification (or equivalent) and must possess a recognised Level 5/6 teaching qualification (PGCE/CertEd) or display a willingness to work towards achieving this.
