An exciting opportunity to lead this innovative, creative, and collaborative adult education provider
The Head of Adult Learning Lewisham (ALL) will lead Lewisham Council’s adult community education service as it develops to become an outstanding provider. ALL is one of the largest providers of adult community education in London, and has developed a reputation for contributing to innovation across the sector and for its genuinely collaborative partnerships both within Lewisham and across the city.
ALL offers residents a kaleidoscopic variety of adult learning classes across Lewisham, delivering over 1,000 courses covering ten different curriculum departments, to thousands of adults and families within the borough.
As well as bespoke adult education centres ALL works with community venues and schools to ensure the widest reach possible. Our services are designed to welcome adults into learning, many of whom may not otherwise take part in education or training. Courses provide accessible entry points for new and returning learners, and good progression routes to help learners continue their journey.
Adult Learning Lewisham has three centres (in Brockley, Lewisham and Grove Park) as well as a small team at Laurence House, Catford. The Head of Adult Learning will be expected to regularly have meetings across all these sites, with the main office being at Brockley Rise centre in the first instance and with remote working during the Covid 19 lockdown.
