We’re looking for an experienced finance professional to manage of our transactional finance team!

UCEM’s busy finance team not only services students and internal staff, but also prepares management data for our Senior Leadership Team and Trustees. This is an exciting opportunity to use your line management experience to manage the transactional finance team and ensure accurate and effective processing functions. You will take the lead on all day-to-day student-related finance issues and contribute to the development of the student-related processes and initiatives to recruit and retain students. Your key duties include responsibility for bank administration, reconciliations, payments to suppliers for subsidiary companies and Bursary awards.

For this role, we would expect you to have accountancy/finance qualifications (or be in training), along with previous experience in a similar role, ideally within the same sector. You must previous management experience, good communication skills and a keen eye for detail. Strong IT skills and the ability to work under pressure during peak student registration periods are essential. Prior knowledge of Unit 4 Business World (formerly Agresso) and SITS (student records database) is desirable but not vital to succeeding in this role.
