The Digital Industries Department includes a number of specialist subject areas with FE/HE and Full Cost Adult Provision for Computing, IT, Games, Creative/Interactive Media, Film & TV, Broadcasting & Journalism and Digital Photography.

With an outstanding curriculum team, the department has a strong portfolio of L3 & L4 Digital Apprenticeship Programmes and will be delivering the new and exciting Technical Qualifications within the field of Digital Production, Computing & IT.

Central to the ‘2020 Digital Growth Strategy’ of the College, the Digital Industries Department will also enjoy state-of-the-art, specialist resources and infrastructure and aim to improve the digital growth of present and future learners, businesses and partners within the region.

The Trainer in Digital Apprenticeships will aim to make a significant contribution to the effective delivery of the Apprenticeship Provision within the Department whilst adhering to and ensuring a high quality/ target driven and student-focused/relevant learning experience for learners on all programmes.

The successful candidate will support recruitment/induction activities and plan, co-ordinate, assess and review the learning activities associated with learners in the workplace whilst ensuring that teaching materials (physical and virtual), assessment and overall quality of programmes adhere to and support the college and department.

They will manage a caseload of learners, organise workplace assessment visits and support business development activities, employers and learners via meetings, progress reviews, assessment and feedback.

The successful candidate will accept nothing other than ‘outstanding’ outcomes and levels of performance, have experience of Apprenticeship delivery, have worked with both employers and learners, understand EPAOs, how to get learners to Gateway and any activities relating to learner/ employer/ apprenticeship compliance.

Current Apprenticeships delivered by the department include standards in Digital Marketer, Infrastructure Technician, Software Developer, Network Engineer, Data Analyst and Cyber Security Specialist.

The qualifications deemed essential for the post are a minimum of a Level 2 qualification in literacy and numeracy (e.g. GCSE English and Maths at grade A*-C), a BA/BSc (Hons) Degree or above in related subject area (or equivalent), a Level 3/Level 4 teaching qualification in a related field and Assessor Awards D32/33 or A1/2.

Good interpersonal skills, excellent IT skills, E-Portfolio Experience (such as OneFile) and the ability to communicate effectively with staff, students and employers at all levels is essential.

3+ Years of Apprenticeship delivery and experience with different delivery models, certifications in vendor/ knowledge quals, evidenced training (within related fields) and a strong portfolio of achievement on apprenticeship programmes would be an advantage.
