SK College Group is the corporate identifier of St Helens College (legal entity and employer) and is used to describe the organisation formed from the merger, in late 2017, of St Helens College and Knowsley Community College.

With an annual turnover of £30million, c. 12,000 students and c. 500 fte staff we provide services across the diverse Boroughs of St Helens and Knowsley and we have outstanding learning facilities in both Boroughs.

Our Board has built on the positive reputations of both pre-merger organisations and is seeking to strengthen this consolidation through strong leadership at an executive level. There have been some well documented post-merger financial and qualitive challenges but great strides have been made by the current management team that have been recognised by the FE Commissioner. Student 16-18 numbers are growing, and the College has successfully re-registered on the RoATP.

We have a proud history, a vibrant future and a sound business plan to chart our way forward. Our Board is looking for an experienced Principal and Chief Executive who can lead the organisation on the next stage of its transformational journey providing sustained performance, growth and improvement.

You will be an experienced senior leader with a background in education and clearly demonstrate that you can lead the College through this significant transformational period and beyond. You may already be an established CEO/Principal in another College or an outstanding Principal or aspirational Deputy Principal, who has the capacity to make this final jump to lead a college in your own right. You may be currently working within the wider Education and Training sector(s) looking for a new challenge but regardless you will have a vision and passion for the learners we serve and a commercial approach that will enable the College to grow sustainably in the future. To be successful you must have significant experience of driving improvement in quality and outcomes. In addition, the successful candidate will need to be able to articulate and demonstrate how they can develop the College further and drive growth across 2 local authorities and a devolved City region.
