RHACC is a Specialist Designated Institution for Adult Learning, providing a varied course offer to support the lifelong learning goals of adults. With daytime, evening, weekend and residential courses across two main campuses and in outreach venues, RHACC is able to meet a broad range of needs, and creates pathways to work and well-being.
The position of a Kitchen technician is needed to set-up room for evening classes and assist, daytime, evening and weekend classes as needed. This is a variable hours role which includes day times, evenings and Saturdays as required.
This role with require preparing the teaching Kitchen to ensure appropriate equipment and materials are available for learners and tutors as directed by the Programme Manager. Ensuring that the Kitchen equipment is kept safe, clean and in good working order, complying with health and safety regulations. Assisting with the development and implementation of a curriculum support plan, which will include video recording of classes as directed by the Programme Manager.
Assisting with the purchasing, repair (as appropriate) and maintenance of equipment and supplies across the curriculum areas. Assisting with the preparation for demonstrations, private views or other College events. Complete and regularly review Risk Assessments in relation to studios and working practices. Complying with COSHH regulations ensuring substances and chemicals are handled and stored appropriately. Working with the wider technician team to ensure the needs of all areas are met.
A minimum of level 2 in English and Maths is essential. A Health and Safety qualification or evidence of CPD would be desirable.
