Bournemouth & Poole College has an exciting opportunity for a motivated and committed Personal Development Manager to join their team. Joining on a full time permanent basis, and you will receive a competitive salary of £37,825 per annum.

The Personal Development ManagerRole:

Working across all college campuses you will lead, develop and deliver comprehensive Personal Development, Careers and Employability programmes and services that prepare students for future success in their next steps and builds their resilience, confidence and independence.

As our Personal Development Manager you will:
- Plan, develop and implement structured, sequenced and progressive Personal Development, Careers and Employability programmes with appropriate schemes of learning

- Coordinate and support the work of the Personal Development Tutors, liaising closely with their line managers

- Be the college Careers Leader ensuring we meet the Gatsby benchmarks

- Ensure that the personal development, careers and employability skills and needs of students are identified and supported

- Act as one of the deputy designated safeguarding leads

- Line manage Careers Advisers and Employability Skills Coaches

- Work effectively in partnership with the Southern Universities Network (SUN)

- Provide regular accurate reports on activity and impact of Personal Development, Careers and Employability activities

- Use internal quality assurance processes to accurately self-assess provision within this remit

- Maintain Matrix accreditation/meet national quality standards for IAG

- Negotiate and manage the allocated budget

- Ensure adherence to relevant health and safety regulations

- In conjunction with Vice Principal, Finance & Commercial Development, review agreements with external partners

- Ensure the college meet students’ careers guidance needs, and they receive appropriate impartial guidance

- Establish and maintain effective links with parents, carers and relevant organisations

The ideal Personal Development Manager will need:

- An understanding of key legislation relating to this role

- An understanding of relevant government strategies and policies

- Knowledge of barriers to learning and how these can be mitigated through the remit of this role

- An understanding of the employability skills required by young people, Local Market Intelligence and Careers guidance

- Relevant experience of leadership in a diverse organisation

- Experience of successful working with external partners

- Experience of supporting the needs of students through the delivery and design of tailored and responsive programmes

- Experience of growing internal and external networks

- Experience in analysing statistical information to form conclusions and implement recommendations

- Experience in preparing complex reports

- Experience of safeguarding

- Confident manager of change and in budget management

- Robust manager of performance

- Ability to be objective and produce statistical and evidence based quality judgements

- L2 English and Maths

- Educated to degree level or equivalent in relevant professional field
