Purpose of the role:
You will deliver short courses in hairdressing, helping learners to develop skills such as style and finishing and to create ‘looks’ for wedding and special occasion hair. You will support students to build confidence as well as knowledge. You will give advice and guidance to help students to progress further and empower them to define and achieve their goals.
Key areas of responsibility:
Prepare course materials, course information, schemes of work, session plans and handouts.
Complete and submit required course documentation in a timely manner.
Plan and deliver sessions differentiated for student need. Record and recognise progress and achievement.
Liaise with your Course Organiser to continually assess the effectiveness of your approach.
Engage actively with CPD and tutor training provided by WEA.
A qualified teacher (level3 or above), you will have extensive relevant experience in delivering courses in the community.
You must be a flexible, experienced tutor who can plan and deliver appropriate tasks to help your students to develop a range of skills.
You should be a competent user of IT and able to submit course paperwork via the WEA portal.
You should have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal and the ability to inspire students to achieve and progress.
