Bradford College has an exciting new opportunity for a Head of Department who will be responsible for the new Essential Skills English and Maths Department. In this vital role you will be fundamental in achieving the College's commitment to transform students' lives.
The successful candidate
We are seeking to appoint a highly experienced education leader, who shows great skills in the management and delivery of the Construction and Engineering curriculum, for our students on study programmes, apprenticeships and higher education programmes.
The successful candidate will have demonstrable experience of leading a vocational team to achieve quality and financial targets. The role involves setting the strategic direction of the department, liaising with internal and external stakeholders to set the curriculum that will meet the future needs of students and employers. The Head of Department has responsibility to plan the delivery of the Construction and Engineering provision, allocating resources to meet the needs of the students, and working with tutors, assessors and support staff to deliver an outstanding student experience. The successful candidate will be knowledgeable and experienced in the Construction and Engineering sectors and will form part of the Colleges Curriculum Management Team that collectively works together to achieve the mission and objectives of the College.
Degree qualified and with a recognized teaching qualification you will have a track record of successful leadership in an educational environment.
You will be adept at delivering results in a cross college environment as well as being highly motivated, able to work on your own initiative and be solution oriented.You will be capable of managing a high workload and be able to prioritise and delegate effectively in order to ensure all deadlines are met.
