Deputy Chief Executive and Chief Financial Officer
Salary c. £95,000
SK College Group is the corporate identifier of St Helens College (legal entity and employer) and is used to describe the organisation formed from the merger, in late 2017, of St Helens College and Knowsley Community College.
With an annual turnover of £30million and a staff and student population in the region of 600/8000 respectively, we provide services over a large and diverse estate across the Boroughs of St Helens and Knowsley. We have outstanding learning facilities in both Boroughs and have plans to relocate within the Kirkby area with a view to expansion in the provision for local residents.
Our Board has built on the positive reputations of both pre-merger organisations and is seeking to strengthen this consolidation through strong leadership at an executive level.
We have a proud history, a vibrant future and a well performing business plan to chart our way forward. Our Board is looking for an experienced Deputy Chief Executive and CFO who can both provide sustained performance and stimulate growth and improvement.
As well as being accountable for the planning, implementation and control of the College’s financial processes, procedures, policies and overall financial health, you will also lead the Finance, MIS, Estates, IT, HR, Marketing/Student Services and Commercial functions. This is a wide ranging remit and it is expected that the exact areas of responsibility may be varied depending on your background and experience.
In return, the College offers a progressive market rate salary package, generous benefits, and a supportive Board of Governors, underpinned by superb staff and students who they are justifiably proud of.
You will be a CCAB qualified accountant who ideally holds a degree at Masters Level, and a demonstrable record of continuous professional development at senior level. A proven track record of senior level strategic leadership and management experience, and evidence of applying rigorous business planning that leads to an increase in funding or profitability is essential. It is also essential that the successful applicant can evidence experience of an approach to line management that empowers staff to perform at the highest level.
You may already be an established Finance Director or VP (Finance) working within the Education and Training sector or outside of the sector and looking for a new challenge in a more senior or wider reaching role. Regardless you should have experience of working in a public sector finance or regulated environment and experience of a wider corporate services background is also desirable.
Closing date: Monday 25th November at 12 pm
The Assessment Centre is scheduled for Thursday 12th and Friday 13th December 2019
