Vice Principal - Curriculum & Quality - Salary £90k-103k plus benefits

NESCol is one of Scotland’s leading and largest colleges and is currently thriving. Set in the North East of Scotland with two campuses in Aberdeen City, one in Fraserburgh, the Scottish Maritime Academy in Peterhead and outreach centres in Banff, Ellon and Inverurie, we are critical to the success of Aberdeen City and Aberdeenshire. We play a key role in ensuring that local employers can access people fully prepared for work, and in providing opportunities for people of all ages to progress their education.

We are partway through our current Strategic Plan and our next Principal has been selected and promoted from within, creating this vacancy. Two key objectives await the successor; being a step change in pace towards delivering excellence across our broad curriculum, whilst ensuring that it is both relevant and appealing to the widest audience and delivering excellent outcomes for our learners. We seek a curriculum leader who has the vision and innovation to ensure our curriculum portfolio remains fit for the future, whilst continuing to raise already high learning and teaching standards and outcomes across the College for current and prospective learners.

NESCol delivers education and training to more than 15,000 students. We have an annual turnover of £46m and a large and varied estate supporting the delivery of one of Scotland’s most dynamic curriculum. Maintaining our financial stability through careful academic planning and delivery is key to us, achieved through the leadership of a large, talented team of curriculum and support professionals.

The successful applicant will join an ambitious leadership team who are supported and challenged by a highly committed and capable Regional Board to work together to continue our journey of excellence.
