We have a new and exciting role for a Senior Project Manager (Education).
Key areas of responsibility:
The post holder will be responsible for leading project management of a range of education projects across the WEA, as assigned by the Programme Manager - Education.
The post holder will work closely with Education Delivery Managers, Senior Project Managers, PMO and other colleagues to ensure successful delivery of allocated projects.
This post holder is responsible for larger scale projects and/or for support and trouble shoot across other projects, and may be required to deputise and cover for the Programme Manager - Education as appropriate.
The post is part of the Programme Management Office (PMO) and will be supported by the PMO team.
Degree in a relevant discipline or demonstrable equivalent experience
Prince 2 Practitioner or similar project management qualification
Proven track record of managing projects through their whole life cycle in a diverse and dispersed organisation
Experience of working with a range of funders and contract terms and conditions
Contract and project management ideally linked to adult and community learning
Experienced in risk and issue management and mitigation
Experienced in profiling deliverables and measuring and monitoring these
Experienced in writing project status reports and recommendations
Experience of managing or supporting across a portfolio of projects
Experience of managing project budgets
Experienced in developing effective implementation, communication and improvement strategies and plans
Experience of matrix line management and working
Experience of working with a wide range of stakeholders across all levels of an organisation
Experience in intervention techniques and developing effective improvement plans
Knowledge & Skills
Good and accurate ICT skills (word processing, spreadsheets, database and email) and literate in MS Office applications
Knowledge of project management best practice approach and tools
High level of written and oral communication skills
Ability to build and maintain relationships across a diverse and dispersed national team
High level of agile and prioritisation skills
High level of organisation skills
