The post holder will work with the education team based in Leeds or London, the Curriculum and Quality Manager and the Digital Marketing Manager to deliver the WEA offer using digital technology, providing the appropriate platform and support. All our systems and processes need to be `digitised.`
The Head of Digital IT and Information Systems is responsible for the development, execution, maintenance and lifecycle management of all WEA`s Digital, IT and Information Systems (IS). To ensure that systems are aligned with business objectives to support WEA`s delivery of services to students, staff and volunteers, Including Canvas based resources to support learning.
Key areas of responsibility:
Responsibility for managing risks relating to information security, IS business continuity planning, crisis management, privacy, and compliance.
The role must build resilience, governance, management, best practice and process control to all information systems, and will be responsible for maintaining appropriate compliance frameworks (including GDPR and ISO) And the requirements of regulators and funders.
The post holder will, in conjunction with the Chief Operating Officer Team plan, coordinate, direct, and design ICT related operations, as well as providing interim contract management, direction and liaison for the selected outsourced supplier providing ICT support for the Association. They will be the key sponsor of any new system developments and will ensure that all systems transition smoothly into business as usual operations.
The post holder will work closely with managers and staff in departments across the WEA to identify, recommend, develop and implement cost-effective ICT solutions to support and maximise the digital teaching platform along with continuous improvements in performance in all areas of the Association`s ICT operations.
The post holder will help to define and implement ICT policies, procedures, and best practices including achieving Cyber Essentials Plus and ISO standards.
The Initial priorities will be to listen and learn from key stakeholders, to shape the Digital and IT strategy and to fix some key operational IT problems with the support of the wider team.. The successful candidate will also be responsible for the choice of an outsourced ICT partner for the WEA.
And meanwhile managing our current provider. They will also need to integrate systems in Scotland with systems in England so that there is one framework operating throughout the WEA.
