An exciting and rewarding opportunity has arisen for a Curriculum Manager in our Creative Industries Department. You will bring exceptional leadership to a highly skilled team and help create an inspiring vision for an innovative curriculum, which delivers an outstanding experience for students. In developing a vision, you will also provide a credible and ambitious response to the new Ofsted Framework.

You will build on existing relationships with industry to ensure the curriculum responds to the needs of employers and to enable enrichment and work experience opportunities for students. Above all, your goal will be to ensure all students receive a high quality and rewarding experience from which to progress to further study or employment.

You will be a highly talented and creative individual who can also demonstrate strong financial management and business planning skills. You will recognise the challenges of working in further education and demonstrate resilience and tenacity in helping to ensure students continue to receive high quality provision. In addition, you will use your creative and entrepreneurial skills to identify new ways to expand the curriculum and generate additional income.

As well as managing the team you will also teach in one or more of the creative disciplines of Art, Design, Media and the Performing Arts. Drawing on your vocational experience to help inspire students and to help them to achieve their qualifications and progress to future destinations.

You will be committed to achieving targets for your team and will be able to demonstrate good financial management and business planning skills. You will be responsible for monitoring student progress, attendance and achievement rates, including for maths and English, and developing strategies for improving success rates for all students. Ideally the successful candidate will have a background in teaching as well as experience in management, either in a vocational or a teaching environment. However, applications will be considered from individuals who can demonstrate they have the necessary management skills and potential from solely an industry background.


What you can offer us:

o Experience and knowledge of relevant vocational qualifications and supporting students/trainees in either a teaching or commercial environment.
o Successful and demonstrable track record of managing and leading people.
o Minimum Level 6 (Degree) qualification in subject area
o Relevant vocational experience
o Level 5 Management qualification, or willingness to achieve (the College will fund the post-holder to achieve a relevant management qualification)
o Relevant teaching or commercial experience in order to support the delivery of the curriculum across all areas.
