Join the SafeWise team
SafeWise, the forward-thinking charity providing ‘skills for life’ education through full-size learning villages and scenarios in Weymouth and Bournemouth, is looking for an exceptional educator to drive forward exciting new developments at this innovative charity based in the south-west. You would be joining an enthusiastic team committed to implementing a new strategy for growth in visitor numbers and impact, through new audiences and ‘skills for life’ topics.
Closing date is 9am on Monday 1st July, and interviews are planned for 19, 22 and 25 July.
We'd recommend you have a good read of our website and our Partnership Report, as well as the Job Description and Person Specification. If you think you fit, arrange a visit and/or a chat with a senior member of the team, as it's hard to fully appreciate the SafeWise concept without seeing it. Please contact Business Manager Hazel Serkis on 01202 591330 or email email@example.com to arrange this.
An inspiring and dynamic teacher is needed to drive forward current primary school delivery but also programmes for new audiences including parents/carers of the under fives, secondary pupils, 16-24s and older people. You’ll need to demonstrate a passion for the impact of ‘skills for life’ education on all ages, and especially of the value of a practical and experiential approach. Your up to date knowledge and experience of the curriculum and of current demands on schools will help SafeWise to better match school needs and thus drive up visitor numbers. You’ll also be confident in working with and learning from professionals in other areas such as early years, youth services or older people’s care. You will enjoy leading the research and writing of plans and resources as much as you do training, motivating and supporting the delivery team, including volunteer Visitor Guides, leading by example through mentoring and demonstration. You will also be able to develop systems for better evaluation of impact on learning and behavioural change outcomes.
You will work across both Weymouth and Bournemouth centres and be very much part of the local teams as well as the central Business Support Team, reporting to the Chief Executive. You will be a fabulous line manager for a part time Programme Development Officer, working with them to ensure that new commissioned programmes for financial education, Home Leavers and Older People are successfully delivered by Spring 2020.
