An excellent opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated, learner-focused, inspirational individual to be involved in an exciting new venture at Barnsley College, taking on the role of Tutorial Learning Mentor in the Junior Apprenticeship Academy (Direct Entry). The college is introducing Direct Entry provision for 14-16 year olds from September 2019 where students who are enrolled will become full-time students at the college. The provision is aimed at young people who are not benefitting from school and are motivated by a more practical curriculum.

The successful candidate will work collaboratively alongside the other tutorial team members to provide tutorial and pastoral support departmentally. Working alongside teachers and a range of other staff, the candidate will support learners and help them to succeed. They will help plan and deliver a range of pastoral interventions within the team and be able to successfully respond in this fast-paced, learner-focused environment.
