Bridgwater & Taunton College are seeking the appointment of an experienced and effective leader to manage the outstanding Additional Learning Support department. The post-holder will inspire a passion for teaching and learning, drive continuous quality improvement, realise opportunities for growth and development and maximise student success and progression.

Additional Learning Support is responsible for providing support across the College to full and part-time learners to approximately 1000 students on courses of all levels. Our aim is for all students with additional support needs to have equal access to the curriculum and work towards meeting their full potential. We support students with a range of learning difficulties/disabilities which include specific learning difficulties, autistic spectrum, ADHD/ADD, Visual Impairment, Deaf and Hard of Hearing, Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties, Physical Disabilities, Severe and Complex learning difficulties, and Mental Health Issues.

Additional Learning Support has a dedicated, highly qualified and experienced team of staff. The team work closely with Cross-College staff in organising and implementing a wide range of support programmes, each tailored to the needs of individual learners. We offer 1:1 Specialist Teaching, 1:1 Specialist Assignment Support, In-class Support, Small Group Workshops, Equipment Support, Specialist Counselling, Mentoring, Diagnostic Assessments, Exam Access Arrangements, Assistive Technology Support and Transition provision.
