Orchard Hill College is a non-residential National Specialist College for adults with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities. It is a unique and rewarding place to work and has both a broad range of learners and a dynamic and supportive staff team. We treat our students with the dignity and respect they deserve and provide them with more opportunities than ever before to be part of the local community. We operate out of centres in Carshalton, Hackbridge, New Malden, Wandsworth, Camberwell Green and Uxbridge and were graded by Ofsted as Grade 1 (Outstanding) in December 2013.

We are looking for someone to provide specific curriculum expertise for teaching teams, modelling good practice and assisting the Head of Learning Centre in the management of quality of teaching and learning within a Centre.

Your role will be to assist the Head of Learning Centre to manage a department including leading on a specific curriculum area, assisting with the development of the curriculum, allocation of resources, supervision and support of staff to ensure effective, learner-centred teaching that meets the needs of adults with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities. This will involve working in collaboration with carers, therapists and personnel from Social Services, as well as internal colleagues. You will also work with the management team to further develop the College into a valuable resource centre for fellow professionals.

You should have a thorough understanding of EC levels (AEC1-10, E2/E3) and have substantial outstanding or good teaching experience with students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities. It is essential that you have DTLLS or an equivalent teaching qualification and have experience in leading a team of Lecturers. You should also be used to planning educational programmes.
