Research Assistant (Paid Internship) – Education & Sustainability
Full time (35 hrs/wk), fixed term for 12 months
Based central Reading, Berkshire
Salary range £18,000 - £20,000 FTE pa plus benefits

This is an exciting opportunity to get involved with research and support a range of projects throughout UCEM. Within this research you will be exploring a variety of issues in the Built Environment, likely focusing on subjects concerning sustainability, sustainable development, placemaking and the value of community. You will play a very active part in carrying out research as well as its delivery to various stakeholder groups, supporting the Director of Research, Innovation and Partnerships. You will be expected to use your knowledge and experience of research approaches (qualitative and quantitative) to undertake studies, prepare comprehensible reports and propose practical solutions.
Key qualities we’re looking for include:
• Minimum 2:2 undergraduate degree
• Previous experience with qualitative and quantitative research methodologies
• Confidence in applying research methodologies
• Ability to prepare and produce briefings, papers and reports
• Excellent communication skills
• Demonstrable organisational skills
• Strong IT ability
• Passion for research
Experience within the same or similar sector is desirable but not essential.
