Calderdale College is looking to recruit appropriately qualified and experienced individual to work in the Work Based Learning area with electrical apprentices to ensure that the progress and support for apprentices is in place and effective in order that all apprentices achieve timely success. As a Progress and Support tutor you will work closely with the Team Leaders, the Functional Skills team and Training Officers to ensure the support needs of the electrical apprentices are being fully met & that all apprentices are making progress and achieve their learning goals. Experience of working in Construction, Hairdressing or with ESOL needs learners would be welcome. The individuals appointed will be self -motivated and focused individuals who work effectively as part of a team
The main purpose of the role is to ensure apprentices make progress, improve their skills and receive the support necessary to achieve timely success in their Apprenticeship Standards including in Functional Skills. This happens with apprentices that come into College in electrical.
The role requires an appropriately qualified and experienced individual who can demonstrate success in previous roles. This includes the capacity to support contextualised maths & English to Level 2 in both the classroom and a work place setting. These individuals will also be able to demonstrate and provide an exemplary role model to their learners. Please be aware that because there is an expectation to work in external settings then a clean driving licence & use of car is a mandatory requirement of the role.
