Based at our Yale campus, you will be responsible for the delivery of the A Level provision at Deeside Sixth Form and Yale Sixth Form, the delivery of the IT provision across Yale and Deeside and the delivery of Creative Industries programmes across the Yale site. Reporting to the Principal, you will provide outstanding strategic leadership which role models the Corporate Behaviours and supports the Institution’s vision and values, together with management and development of a curriculum directorate.

You must ensure that the provision meets the needs of learners, employers and other stakeholders, is of the highest possible quality in terms of learner outcomes, progression and learner/employer satisfaction and reflects the vision, mission, aims and values of the Institution. You must also ensure it is effective, efficient and provides excellent value for money and that it promotes a culture of excellence and equal opportunity.

Supporting learners to successfully achieve and progress, you will manage student discipline and behaviour and continuously develop teaching and learning practice, ensuring a sector leading and innovative learning experience for our learners. You will engage with learners to support the development and improvement of provision and meet or exceed curriculum and quality targets.

Our Assistant Principal and Director of Curriculum should hold a relevant Degree (or an equivalent qualification) and have previous experience of working in the education sector. Demonstrating personal vision and direction whilst responding well to new challenges, you will have a good understanding of funding mechanisms, financial planning and control of resources along with curriculum / quality planning. You should also have knowledge of The Common Inspection Framework and be able to make a significant contribution to the strategic direction of the organisation.

With previous experience of leading a team, you will be able to motivate and identify appropriate development opportunities for team members and be able to maximise the effective use of management and financial information.

Those who hold a recognised teaching qualification and a management qualification will be of distinct advantage.

Although not essential, the ability to speak Welsh is desirable.

A DBS Disclosure will be requested from the successful applicant being offered the position.
