Calder College is seeking to appoint two Facilities Assistants to join our successful Estates & Facilities team, providing customer focussed services and excellent facilities to students, staff and commercial customers.
Responsible for maintenance, portering and campus security, working on a shift rota with occasional weekend work. Duties include working from the College Helpdesk system to provide reactive services, following a planned maintenance schedule and carrying out minor repairs, delivering post, portering, carrying out room setups, grounds maintenance and other manual handling tasks, with occasional working at heights.
The post holder will also be required to open/lock-up campus buildings, de-activate and activate alarms, patrol the College campus, carry out ID checks, monitor the CCTV system, maintain order, discipline and defuse potentially volatile situations, in line with College procedures.
Experience of facilities/security or other similar roles in a customer focussed environment and working from IT Systems/Databases is essential. Candidates should have the ability to use small electrical hand tool and carry out minor repairs and a good standard of education including Literacy and Numeracy to Level 2 and ideally SIA licenced, or willing to undertake SIA accreditation and First Aid training.
