Trainee Lecturer in GCSE and/or Functional Skills Maths
Salary: Up to £23,237
Closing date: 5.00pm, Thursday 1 November 2018
We are currently recruiting for a Trainee Lecturer in GCSE and/or Functional Skills Maths with the potential to deliver outstanding student achievement and a commitment to driving forward the provision of GCSE and Functional Skills Maths across all divisions in the College to ensure student success.
This post would suit newly qualified graduates who wished to gain a teaching qualification or newly qualified teachers. Trainees have reduced contact hours and are supported through a mentoring system and staff development programmes to develop their classroom practice.
As an ambitious trainee lecturer, you will work closely within the Division of Maths and English to ensure that students are actively engaged in all aspects of the delivery of Maths across the College and you will also be expected to liaise with cross-college areas to enhance the student experience and provide the widest range of opportunities to our students.
As a trainee lecturer your contact teaching hours, relevant to subject specialism, will increase as you gain in skills and experience.
With a relevant degree level qualification in Maths or a related subject, ideally you also possess a PGCE or Certificate in Education. However should you not have this, the College has an excellent Staff Development programme where a recognised teaching qualification can be gained.
You will have the knowledge of current issues in Further Education relating to the curriculum area and thought knowledge of current GCSE and/or Functional Skills Maths specifications and experience of teaching this in an FE context would be beneficial, it is not essential to the post.
Download the application form below and give a brief overview of your existing experience, in line with the Job Description and Person Specification, to show how you meet the criteria for the post of Trainee Lecturer in GCSE and/or Functional Skills Maths.
