Trainee Lecturer in GCSE and/or Functional Skills English
Salary: Up to £23,237
Closing date: 5.00pm, Thursday 1 November 2018
We are currently recruiting for a Trainee Lecturer in GCSE and/or Functional Skills English with the potential to deliver outstanding student achievement, to drive our continued success in providing a high quality teaching and learning experience and passion for ensuring student success.
This post would suit newly qualified graduates who wished to gain a teaching qualification or newly qualified teachers. Trainees have reduced contact hours and are supported through a mentoring system and staff development programmes to develop their classroom practice.
As an ambitious trainee lecturer, you will ensure that English contributes fully towards the excellent achievement and retention rates and the sustained growth of the Division and that students are actively engaged in all aspects of the delivery of GCSE and Functional Skills level English.
As a trainee lecturer your contact teaching hours, relevant to subject specialism, will increase as you gain in skills and experience.
With a relevant degree level qualification, ideally you will already possess a PGCE or Certificate in Education. However should you not have this, the College has an excellent Staff Development programme where a recognised teaching qualification can be gained.
You will have the knowledge of current issues in Further Education relating to the curriculum area and of the GCSE and/or Functional English specifications. Experience of teaching GCSE and/or Functional English would be advantageous but not essential to this post.
Download the application form below and give a brief overview of your existing experience, in line with the Job Description and Person Specification, to show how you meet the criteria for the post of Trainee Lecturer in GCSE and/or Functional Skills English.
