ABOUT THE ROLE
We are looking for conscientious, inclusive, innovative and highly motivated individual to deliver inspirational teaching & learning on our Performing Arts courses at level 2 and 3. The successful applicant will join a highly proactive team and will be responsible for the organisation and delivery of the Performing arts curriculum in respect to musical theatre and acting. The role involves being a programme tutor for a group of level 3 UAL students and you will support their progression to their next step towards meeting their career goals. You will teach, assess and contribute to the curriculum design and delivery for your students. Our UAL delivery involves student performing in our Theatre and studios
You will work closely with our Grange Theatre staff and Performing Arts tutors to perform in large scale productions three times a year and touring productions.
Our study programmes ensures students are both academically and practically prepared for work within technically and creatively driven industries. Our Creative study programs offer 16-19 & 24+ pathways in technical theatre, performing arts and music. Our students work in the Grange Theatre in Oldham gaining experience in a professional context.
The Performing Arts team are closely involved with regional employers who shape and support our curriculum and staff.
You should have the following:-
With a relevant degree/industrial experience and a teaching qualification or willingness to work towards this, you will have a broad range of skills relating to performance but we expect the applicant to be able to teach musical theatre including singing and acting skills. Experience of UCAS and supporting students through courses and study programmes is desirable. You will have good organisational skills and be able to advise and support students through their career development and planning. Ongoing staff training and support is available as part of our professional development for curriculum staff. We are currently working with Tom Sherrington on a Teach to Distinction programme of training for Teaching and Learning.
