As a IT and Digital Assessor/Trainer you will be responsible for providing support to the students through their apprenticeship, including: carrying out initial assessments; designing a learning and development package to meet the individual needs of the students and maintaining records of this progress. You will create training plans for employers using a consistent framework as well as assisting employers with the completion of these. Furthermore, you will be responsible for accrediting successful completion of learner tasks including work based activities in line with college assessment and verification policy. You will also be expected to maintain efficient record keeping and tracking systems in order to report on targets agreed by the college.
Other duties will include participating in marketing and recruitment activities to promote the apprenticeship programme to prospective students as well as attending other department meetings and supporting colleagues.

Evidence of up to date knowledge and practice in IT and Software Systems
Understanding of Apprenticeships

Flexible and positive attitude towards working with a range of students
Ability to comply with Health & Safety standards creating an enjoyable learning environment
Industry related qualification, IT qualification or degree is desirable
Strong knowledge of: Active Directory, TCP/IP, OSI Model, Network Cabling, ability to assess, build and configure a LAN network, set up Client/Server environment, Installing and configuring software
Understanding of E portfolios (desirable)
Ability to co-ordinate and manage workloads and visits
Strong administration skills
Dynamic and innovative approach to teaching
