The ideal candidate will ideally have experience of the brickwork industry and will be able to demonstrate their adaptability and flexibility to everyday tasks. We are also for looking for a confidant person with good interpersonal skills, that has experience in customer service.

As a Technician in Brickwork you will undertake a variety of technician duties, generally in the Centre’s workshops and stores, to assist lecturers and instructors in the delivery of training programmes and the maintenance and preparation of resources. Some of these duties will involve checking levels of stock and working within the team to ensure good stock control daily. You will be facilitating learning by making items to support the delivery of qualifications, and ordering materials as required, negotiating prices and discounts to ensure the College gets the best deals. As part of this role you will ensure the Health and Safety of all people, holding responsibility for all Health and Safety activities within the workshop whilst ensuring apparatus and equipment are used in accordance with sound educational practice and current health and safety regulations.
As a brickwork technician you should be willing to participate in The College’s appraisal process and undertake any training that may be appropriate.
Key responsibilities, skills and attitudes
Knowledge of Health and Safety Regulations
Minimum of three years industrial experience in the related environment (desirable)
Confident speaker and demonstrator
First aid and forklift trained or willing to undertake training provided by the College
Basic ILT Skills
Good interpersonal skills and customer care
Previous experience in stock control and material storage
Able to drive 3 tonne flatbed lorry and minibus (desirable)
Qualification in Health & Safety (desirable)
Dynamic, positive and innovative approach
Adaptable and flexible working attitude
Able to analyse and solve problems
Qualified to level 3 in a relevant subject as a minimum
