In November 2016 Newcastle-under-Lyme College merged with Stafford College to form the Newcastle & Stafford Colleges Group. The group is currently home to a population of over 5,000 full-time students and around 620 students on higher education programmes. We have over 2,000 part-time or adult learners and 2,000 apprentices where we work with over 800 individual employers.
We are looking for a Technician/Instructor within the Arts department to maintain and prepare Ceramics and 3D for use and developing the enrichment within the College. To be responsible for delivering outstanding demonstrations that use innovative and dynamic methods to secure learner success.
The post holder will undertake such duties as required of a Technician/Instructor in relation to the full range of processes and techniques associated with this role, primarily in the Ceramics and 3D areas, which includes being responsible for the stock control and ordering of tools, materials and equipment. To assist in preparation of workshops for 3D and Ceramics classes, liaising with staff teams. To also plan and deliver lively and interactive instruction and assessment activities to a high standard on a range of programmes.
To be successful you will need to be qualified to at least A Level (Level 3) or equivalent and preferably studied up to graduate level in Ceramics or 3D. Have a good basic level of education including literacy and numeracy to GCSE or equivalent, with the ability to adopt positive working relationships and to stimulate a passion for your subject area amongst students. Be able to demonstrate that you are a team player who is able to work effectively as part of a team.
