NQTs welcome to apply

We are seeking to appoint a teacher of drama at Jane Austen College as the school expands. If you are an excellent classroom practitioner, who is flexible, highly motivated, and passionate about teaching your subject, then we want to hear from you. We will also consider practitioners who have exceptionally strong experience of working in drama with young people and who are working towards achieving QTS.

At Jane Austen College we deliver an aspirational, academic curriculum that considers the arts to be central to every child’s intellectual inheritance. All students study drama in KS3, and it is highly popular at GCSE and A Level. We also run a thriving programme of electives that produce high-quality dramatic performances on a regular basis. If you believe in the importance of drama - both the theory and the practice - then we would like to hear from you.

You will work with the head of faculty and the rest of the subject team to develop our curriculum and play an important part in creating a department that aims to set the standard nationally.

Jane Austen College is an 11-19 secondary school in the heart of Norwich. We currently have Years 7, 8, 9, 10, 12 and 13 within the school and look forward to welcoming a new year group in September. Growing gradually is allowing us to create an exceptional school, with the highest of standards. We are an English specialist school, with an additional post-16 specialism in humanities and the arts. We are also partnered with Sir Isaac Newton Sixth Form – the region’s first maths and science specialist sixth form.

As part of the Inspiration Trust, the top comprehensive schools group for pupil progress to GCSE, we offer high-quality, personalised professional development in addition to excellent career development opportunities. At Jane Austen College, you will have the opportunity to develop your expertise as a teacher and also develop your career, in a supportive and stimulating environment.
