CALAT Sessional Lecturer Conditions: Band 1, Pts 3 – 8
£23.87 to £29.98 (including holiday pay) per hour
Tutors required to teach ICT to adult learners at all levels however tutors are specifically required for level 1 and level 2 iTQ. This would require advanced knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access. Courses embed employability qualifications within the curriculum and the candidate would need to understand how to work to tight deadlines to support learners to achieve and satisfy internal and external verifiers. Experience of working with OCR and City and Guilds examination boards would be beneficial. There may be evening, weekend and day time hours. You will hold suitable ICT qualifications to a level above what you would be teaching on accredited courses. Have substantial knowledge, skills and previous experience of teaching adult groups referred from JC+. Be able to plan, deliver and adapt teaching with groups of learners with a range of complex learning needs.
As a condition of employment all applicants should be qualified in their subject with a teaching or training qualification, Level 3 Award in Education and Training or equivalent as a minimum. Teachers without relevant teacher training qualifications or qualified teacher status (DTLLS or equivalent) will be required to work towards the relevant qualifications.
Rate of pay is £19.89 (plus £3.98 holiday pay) per hour to £24.98 (plus £5.00 holiday pay) per hour, depending on teaching qualification and experience. Tutors holding the equivalent to a Certificate in the Lifelong Learning Sector (CTLLS), or above, start at £20.91 (plus £4.18 holiday pay) per hour.
