About the Role
The Engineering Division is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and experienced engineer with a multi-skilled background typically in areas such as Engineering Maths and Science, Electrical/Electronic Principles, PLCs, Microcontrollers, Combination & Sequential Logic, PCB Design, Industrial Process Control etc.to complement the existing electronic/electrical team. Someone who is keen to teach across a range of programmes, predominantly our Level 3 BTEC, but also our expanding Level 4/5 HNC/D provision.
Knowledge of Pearson BTEC Engineering programmes at Level 3,4 & 5, and BTEC quality assurance processes would be an advantage to this role. Previous experience teaching these disciplines & qualifications in an FE institution would also be an advantage, but this is not essential as training will be given to candidates with little or no teaching experience.
Applications are welcome from experienced engineers who are wishing to move across into the teaching profession.
If you do not possess a full teaching qualification – Cert ED, PGCE or equivalent – you can study with us part time AND we will subsidise you 50% of the cost of the course, AND offer you an interest free loan on the balance. However candidates must possess a minimum of HND/Degree in a relevant Engineering discipline or the equivalent industrial qualification/s.
The post is required for August 2018 in preparation for the new academic year.
For an informal discussion, please contact Lisa Wheeler, Head of Division for Engineering on 01904 770810 or 07803 615613.
The successful candidate will be required to undertake an Enhanced Disclosure check.
