We are looking to recruit a Tutor to teach Functional Skills sessions to our apprentices, helping them to gain the qualifications they need to succeed in their work placements.
You will hold a qualification that enables you to teach in a post 16 education or training environment and have experience of teaching young people. This job will require flexibility to work across the curriculum as English, Maths and ICT to Level 2 will need to be delivered to our young people.
Due to the nature of our apprenticeships we are looking for someone with the scope and creativity to deliver the qualifications in an innovative way that incorporates practical methods of teaching alongside more traditional methods that will be required for the assessment.
You will be required to adhere to internal and external verifying bodies and conduct assessment and moderation activity in line with National and Regional requirements, so experience of this is required along with the ability to monitor progress and ensure that records are kept accurate and up to date. Managing your own workload and the ability to work to deadlines is essential.
You will need to liaise with a wide range of individuals from Awarding Bodies, Training Centres, Apprentices and Employers so good communication skills are vital.
Although based from home, you will need to live int he South West and be willing to travel regularly so a full driving licence and use of a car is essential.
