Purpose of the role:

To manage operational performance for the Welsh arm of the business to ensure company performance targets are realised.

Key responsibilities:

•To develop and manage the operational team in all aspects of delivery
•To line manage a team of team leaders to ensure operational performance is in-line with company expectation
•Implement and monitor quality orientated procedures and processes
•To ensure contractual compliance across all aspects of delivery
•Ensure IQA process meets Awarding Organisations standards
•Manage the range of internal and external stakeholders to exceed their expectations and promote a positive image of the organisation
•To satisfy budget requirements

Key duties:

•To ensure the operational team is resourced to deliver effectively and efficiently
•Undertake 121 reviews and develop the operational team. Monitoring individual operational staff and team leader performance. Providing support and guidance to maximise potential and address under performance
•Agree and set performance targets and personal objectives, on a periodic basis, to satisfy both personal advancement and company goals
•Ensure the Apprenticeship operational quality and compliance measures are managed to achieve over 90% on a consistent basis
•Ensure adherence to funding body, inspectorate and awarding body procedures
•In conjunction with team leaders, ensure learner Apprenticeship Success rates are in-line with government and company performance targets
•Ensure the operational team adder to all business policies, with particular focus on learner and health and safety reviews
•Coordinate the EQA process with internal sector specialists
•Ensure revenue and cost targets contained within team budget are hit or exceeded
•Look for ways to optimise financial performance including reviewing new opportunities
•Investigate and take action on customer complaints
•Represent the organisation at VSP and external meetings
•Participate in and chair team and company meetings
•Undertake projects and initiatives as directed by Managing Director
•Contribute to promoting and maintaining the Welsh language
•Partake in industry competitions by completing applications and promoting learners/employers/colleagues


•Extensive experience of line management and leadership positions
•Experience of the work-based learning sector
•Organisational skills and a sound attention to detail
•Competent numeracy skills


•V1 verifier award
•Management level 4 or equivalent
•Fantastic Company benefits including £5K car allowance
•Full driving licence and use of car
