Hours: Full time, 36 hours a week, 52 weeks a year
Location: Based on one of the main college sites, though the post holder will be required to work on any of the other college’s sites as appropriate
Barnet and Southgate College is a highly successful Further Education college with around 16,000 students of all ages from 14 years upwards.
Following a restructure within the Technology Innovation and Development department we are looking for self-motivated individuals with a “can do” attitude to enhance the Technology Innovation and Development department in the following roles:
As part of the Helpdesk Team you will be responsible for the day-to-day delivery of an effective help desk service. This will involve the recording of events and service failures, chasing and completion of tickets, and liaising with internal and external customers.
The successful candidate will provide excellent customer-focussed support, and be responsible for troubleshooting problems, diagnosing and resolving issues, and advising users on the appropriate action.
You must be a committed team player, have a genuine interest in technology with a willingness to learn, self-motivated and responsible. You will be able to effectively manage and organise your own time and workload.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, together with the ability to take ownership of incidents whilst ensuring issues are prioritised and resolved effectively, are essential for this role. You will also have a proven track record with troubleshooting and delivering an excellent service to stakeholders.
All post holders will be required to work 36 hours a week and may be required to work in the evenings or occasionally at the weekend.
The post holders will be required to work across all College sites and training venues.
