From April 2018 onwards
£300 per meeting (20+ meetings per year)
The “ 135 Cluster of Schools” is made up of five successful Camden Primary Schools - Carlton, Fleet, Gospel Oak, Primrose Hill and Rhyl located in the NW1, NW3 and NW5 areas of North London.
The Cluster is very well established and works collaboratively in a variety of ways.
We now wish to recruit a shared Clerk to our Governing Bodies to further develop our partnership.
The successful clerk would, in the first instance, provide effective administrative support to each Governing Body and its committees, including full, pertinent and accurate minutes of each meeting. Ideally, you would have Governance experience, but this should not deter willing applicants who wish to develop their knowledge and skills.
We are committed to investing in the training and development with Camden Learning to enable the successful clerk to develop their understanding of governance, constitutional and procedural matters and manage information in accordance with legal requirements.
Meetings vary across each school - some are during the day and some in the evening - and usually last for approximately two hours. There are on average, per school, four full Governing Body Meetings per year plus three sub-committee meetings.
The payment per meeting would be £300. This would cover the liaison with the Head Teachers, chairs of committees, preparation and distribution of agendas and associated paperwork, the minuting of the actual meeting and subsequent distribution to members.
This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a rewarding, interesting role and develop new skills.
Extensive training is available and the skills acquired are highly transferable.
If you are interested in applying for this unique role or wish to have an informal discussion please telephone Robin Warren - Head Teacher - Primrose Hill Primary School on 02077228500 and/or see the ‘vacancies’ section on the school website:
You will find the application form and the job description online.
The closing date for application is 9am on Friday 23rd March with interviews taking place on Tuesday 17th April 2018.
Application for the post should be accompanied with a covering letter outlining your experience and suitability for the role.
We are committed to the safeguarding and child protection of our children and young people.
