Harris Boys’ Academy East Dulwich opened in September 2009 and is part of the Outstanding Harris Federation. We have now reached our full capacity of 750 students across Years 7 to 11 and we work in partnership with Harris Federation Post 16. In 2017, we achieved a Progress 8 score of +0.76, which places us in the top 6% of schools nationally.

We are looking to recruit a part-time Student Attendance Officer to provide maternity cover within our team at Harris Boys' Academy East Dulwich.

About you:

With experience working in schools and, ideally, knowledge of CMIS, you will have excellent organisational skills and attention to detail. You should have excellent listening and communication skills and sensitivity in complex situations, and be able to quickly gain and maintain credibility and rapport with managers and staff across the academy.

Your role:

The purpose of this role is to ensure all attendance and punctuality targets and requirements are met, sharing and supporting the academy’s responsibility to provide and monitor opportunities for personal and academic growth.

Your role will include:

•Managing the attendance line, ensuring daily attendance information is entered onto the system
•Establishing reason for absences and follow up on poor attendance/punctuality including telephone calls, texting, letters and home visits
•Ensuring all class registers are completed and fire registers are up-to-date
•Liaising with Reception on a daily basis to obtain sign in/out sheets
•Issuing Authorisation Leave Passes according to academy procedures
•Logging and file medical evidence on CMIS
•Logging all late detentions in accordance with academy Attendance and Punctuality Policy
