We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Director of Business & Finance to join our senior leadership team. This role will play a critical role in partnering the senior leadership team in strategic decision making and contributing to the College's overall success by effectively managing all financial activities and driving new business opportunities.

The key role responsibilities of the Director of Business & Finance will be to:

. Take the lead role in ensuring the effective and efficient delivery of our financial strategy
. Take a lead in actively identifying and exploring new business ideas and ensure the financial viability of ideas
. Support strategic planning and participate in a wide variety of special projects, reports and initiatives
. Analyse and present financial data in an accurate, accessible and timely manner
. Communicate monthly and annual financial statements, monitor progress, prepare financial outlooks and keep the senior leadership team/board of governors fully informed
. Provide strong analysis and KPI framework
. Oversee all accounts, ledgers and reporting systems
. Oversee the annual budget, quarterly forecasts and monthly reporting
. Coordinate all audit activity
. Monitor risk management policies, procedures and business continuity plans
. Take the lead for all statutory reporting, compliance, annual accounts, VAT and charity regulations
. Manage the College relationship between Banks, Insurance providers and Solicitors.
. Oversee the IT systems and MIS functions
. Oversee the payroll function
. Trustee and Chair of the College pension scheme
. Promotion of safeguarding and the welfare of vulnerable young adults
. Promotion of equality and diversity

Person Specification:

. Strong Commercial Business Acumen
. Qualified and experienced Accountant
. Substantial experience of key strategic financial reporting, business development and charitable financial regulations
. Previous experience of working in the Education or Care sector at a senior level would be a distinct advantage although not essential
. Have a dynamic and effective leadership style
. Be self motivating with an approachable outgoing, self-confident personal style
. Be passionate, positive and have plenty of enthusiasm
. Outstanding communication skills and high level networking skills
. Be a proactive team player who can demonstrate initiative
. Ability to influence, persuade, negotiate and work with multiple stakeholders
. Ability to manage multiple tasks/projects
. With a well-developed ability to delegate and to support and develop staff
