Are you passionate about community learning and keen to influence provision in the Borough?

Halton Borough Council’s Employment, Learning & Skills Division is seeking an experienced teacher and manager with a commitment to community learning. You will bring with you a wide range of skills and philosophies and be adept at managing people and finance within the Further Education sector.

You will be responsible for the strategic management and regular review of all Adult & Family learning and associated resources, including high-performing teams of Adult Learning Tutors and Learner Services staff, along with budgets and accommodation - all designed to provide seamless support to our learners.

You will undertake analysis of local need and demand in order to support the development of a community learning service which is flexible, inclusive and meets the needs of Halton residents. Embracing the digital agenda will be a priority.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced further education/community learning manager and practitioner with knowledge of both the Education & Skills Funding Agency and Ofsted requirements so that you can champion a high-quality community learning service in Halton.

This is an opportunity for the right candidate to be part of the forthcoming devolution of the Adult Education Budget within Liverpool City Region and ensure Halton’s Adult & Family Learning Service continues to grow in success for its residents.

In return for your commitment, we can offer you:

• A key role in the management structure of the Division with a real opportunity to influence community learning across Halton.
• Ongoing support and CPD
• Flexible and agile working
• Access to a generous pension scheme
